The Other Lens
Project Feel produces “The Other Lens”, a short film program designed to champion emerging filmmakers who are creating innovative cinematic work that challenges convention. With our theme of “The Other Lens”, we wanted to explore distinctions from ingrained normativity, whether it be ethnic, racial, sexual, or expression, to foster empathy and create positive social change. By embracing everyone’s otherness, we hope both filmmakers and viewers recognize that through collaboration and vulnerability, we can blur the lines of separation and reimagine the boundaries.
With this program, we hoped to shift the needle and expand representation by advocating people of color, female, non-binary, and trans creatives within the film industry. Project Feel seeks to bring together a new generation of storytellers who use a thought-provoking and visionary lens to make an impact on the world. With roots in independent film ourselves, we prioritized curating an accessible program because we understand the significance of boundless imagination and working with a passionate team when creating films on a budget. We’re excited to share these extraordinary stories, support the film community, and celebrate all kinds of cinema!
